Despite missing the last round trip, Andrew Knights was able to film the trains' return.
An experiment to test extra usage for our Loco No2... ease of driver access and need for a third loco. It worked!
First the front of No2 was removed and left in the engine shed. Next the sprung coupler was dug out of hiding. Then the converter wagon was coupled up, followed by the old tin truck on a rigid bar coupler … This was to test two things….does the KLR NEED a third loco? Can driver access to No2 be made easier for occasional trips/drivers? The train was prepared and then… The answer is…no. There’s no need for loco No3, and a resounding YES… Next year the tin truck will be rebuilt Into something more useful Andrew Knights Here is a short video from Andrew Knights of a Road Machines Contractor Monorail system in use at the Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre. Andrew Knights recently visited Littlehampton Miniature Railway, which is well worth a visit. Here is a short video of the train at Norfolk Gardens station. Richard Hood has kindly supplied some pictures of the recent exhibition at Thorncombe. The event was opened by Michael Stanier, grandson of the famous locomotive engineer William Stanier, Over 350 people visited the exhibition, and the money raised was donated to railway charities. Thanks to everyone who came to the show, and in particular to those who supplied layouts, and everyone who helped to make the show so enjoyable. Andrew Knights has provided a slideshow video that has some great pictures of the layouts. Here is a video highlighting the various exhibits at last Saturday's show. Andrew Knights has supplied a "spoiler" for the next edition of the WRG Newsletter.
Here is a video montage of the Wealden Railway Group's 2012 Tour of East London. The tour began at St Pancras and continued through Stratford, Woolwich, Wapping, and returned via Stratford to Clapham Junction. Video courtesy of Andrew Knights. |
